What is BankThanks?

BankThanks is a unique program that rewards you for using your Beneficial Bank VISA CheckCard.

How do I earn points?

You earn one point for every $3 spent on eligible non-PIN-based check card purchases.

In addition, you can earn bonus points for other actions. You can earn bonus points for:

  • Registering on the BankThanks website (750 points)
  • Enrolling in Online Banking (based on account ownership) (500 points)
  • Establishing Direct Deposit within 90 days of new account opening (2,500 points)
  • Receiving monthly e-statements (25 points/month)
  • Earn a good GPA in school with a GPA of 3.0 or better (for Campus Checking account holders) (500 points up to twice annually)

Each month we will provide you with a monthly BankThanks e-statement showing the points you have earned. As soon as your statement is available on the web site, an email notification will be sent to the address you provided.

What is a non-PIN-based transaction?

Most check card purchases not requiring a PIN number are considered non-PIN-based. These include online, over the telephone and through mail purchases using your check card. At a local store, if you choose "Credit" and sign for the purchase, this is a non-PIN-based transaction. Recurring bill payments may also qualify as non-PIN-based transactions.

When using my card at the checkout, I am prompted by the keypad or sales associate to select either "Credit" or "Debit." Do I have to select "Debit" when using my check card?

No. Whether you choose "Credit" or "Debit" the purchase amount is deducted from your checking account. Selecting "Credit" only means that you sign, instead of entering your PIN, to complete the transaction. Some retailers do not even require you to sign for credit purchases. If the keypad automatically displays a PIN entry screen when you swipe your check card, you can switch to "Credit" by selecting "Cancel."

When will I receive my bonus points?

It may take 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to appear on your BankThanks e-statement.

How do I redeem points?

You can redeem your points online. If you need assistance, call the BankThanks Service Center at 1-877-4BB-THNX (1-877-422-8469), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What can I get with my points?

You may redeem your points for gift cards, or cash.

When can I redeem points?

You may redeem your points at any time online or by calling the Service Center.

How do I redeem points for cash or gift cards?

Redeeming your BankThanks points for cash or gift cards is easy. Simply compare thetotal points you've accumulated with the number needed for the item(s) you want and redeem. If you need assistance, call our Service Center toll-free at 1-877-4BB-THNX. Our Rewards Specialist will take your order. You will receive your BankThanks item(s) within 2 to 4 weeks.

What if I have more than one check card attached to a Checking Account?

The BankThanks points for all check cards attached to a checking account will be combined, no matter how many cards are used to earn the points. There will be one login and password on the bankthanks.com website for each checking account.

Can my BankThanks points be combined with points earned on other programs?

Points may not be combined with, or transferred to, other reward programs.

Do BankThanks points expire?

They're good for three (3) years from the month they're earned. So there's plenty of time (and ways) to use your points.

Are BankThanks points transferable?

Points are not transferable.

What happens if my card is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen you will not lose any of the points you have earned. All of the points earned to date will remain on the checking account to which your card was attached. When you receive a replacement card, you will begin earning points on it immediately.
